This piece was made after I spent six months in Margaret River, a time when I really started to find myself. It means a lot to me. I found the driftwood in Exmouth a year and a half earlier, another place that’s special to me. The two opposite directions coming together to form this pieces. A curved piece like a boomerang of driftwood that’s been painted in layered ocean colours.
You can see soft pinks on top and deep blues, greens, and white underneath, giving it a wave-like look.
The texture of the wood makes the colours look like natural layers formed by the sea.
This piece was purely from my brain on image, no reference. I just went for it.
